Firmware v0.1 — Storm Summoner as a scene-based MIDI performance controller for effects pedals, with on-device programming and a web companion for updates and device info.
Storm Summoner is built around scenes — saved setups that wire your touch surface, sensors, and pedals into one playable instrument. The core loop is simple: pick a pedal profile, assign pads and continuous controls, watch the circular display, and drive MIDI out over USB or TRS.
What you get
- Scene-based performance — Build and switch scenes with per-scene pedal/device mode, MIDI channel, and input assignments. Duplicate, rename, activate/deactivate, and persist scenes on the device.
- Expressive surface — Eight-zone capacitive touchwheel, assignable buttons, proximity and ambient light sensing, expression pedal jack, and CV / analog clock sync input — all routable into scene behavior.
- MIDI for pedals — USB MIDI and ¼″ TRS MIDI out (Type A/B configurable), with a growing library of pedal definitions so CCs and presets speak your gear’s language.
- Modulation engines — Dual LFOs with dynamic modulation, plus Random Tone Generator (RTG) and Sample+Hold, including pattern, probability, and rate modulation for generative control.
- Actions that perform — Pads and inputs fire actions: control changes, morphs, clock/cut, param hold/cycle, UI module switching, timed and repeating actions with probability, transport triggers, and on-play scene actions.
- On-device UI — 240×240 circular IPS with selectable performance screens, programming/config menus, calibration wizards, touch settings, a choice of screensavers, and factory reset.
- Web companion — Browser connection for device info, pedals, and firmware + assets updates over USB.
Also in the box
- Internal tempo & transport — Clock generation, sync options, and transport-aware action timing / resume.
- Haptic feedback — Optional pad feedback for confirmation under the fingers.
- Envelope follower — Audio-derived control for more organic modulation sources.
- Open firmware — Updateable in the field; 0.1 is where versioned releases begin.
