Firmware v0.5

Firmware v0.5 is the action-system release. Almost every touchpad assignment was rebuilt around a cleaner type + variant model, with richer Note actions, randomization, better touch recovery, and smoother screen changes. Existing scenes migrate automatically.

Firmware v0.5

Highlights

  • Actions, reorganized — Presets, scenes, tempo, transport, LFO, clock, cut, UI, params, touchwheel, RTG, sample & hold, piano pedals, and MIDI control now use a single action type with variants (Hold, Cycle, Toggle, Set, Modify, and more). Less clutter in the menus; more consistent behavior across pads.
  • Richer Note actions — Play chords with 1–4 voices, optional bass octave shift for upper voices, random root notes (with min/max range), and tempo-synced poly aftertouch swell while notes are held.
  • Randomization for tempo & LFO — Set tempo to a random BPM (optionally within a floor/ceiling range). Randomize LFO waveform, rate, division, polarity, floor/ceiling, and related settings for generative scenes.
  • Engine Modify — Runtime overrides for RTG and Sample & Hold (rate mode, rate, sync, glide, probability) without rebuilding the whole scene.
  • Rock-solid touch recovery — Stuck pads are quarantined until idle, false triggers during scene changes are suppressed, and a recover console command helps bring a pad back. Touchwheel vs. static-discharge detection is smarter.
  • Better Hold behavior — Unified Control actions (Set / Hold / Cycle) with follow-up release logic based on how long you hold — more predictable morphs and temporary CC changes.
  • Smoother screen transitions — Performance modules swap without the old flicker: the current screen stays up until the next one is ready.

Bonus round

  • Tap tempo cleanup — Legacy tap modes removed; tap uses a moving average of recent taps for more stable BPM.
  • Step actions consolidated — RTG / Sample & Hold stepping lives under a clearer Step variant.
  • Bank-aware preset actions — Preset program/bank values serialize correctly so banked presets survive save/load.
  • Safer scene changes — Synthetic pad releases on scene switch reduce stuck or ghost triggers.
  • Legacy scenes still load — Old action names migrate into the new variant format automatically.
